Where has Mrs Hall been?

What an extraordinary week.
This week Mr Betman has been in Room 11 nearly all week.
On Monday I was lucky enough to be a judge at the Nelson Regional Science Fair.
What clever young scientists we have in our region. Two of our Senior students received awards, however the aspect that made me feel really proud was the respectful way our students behaved and interacted with the judges.
On Tuesday I attended a course with Mrs Smith and Mrs King about reading and writing in the year 1 - 3 area of the school.
Then on Wednesday and Thursday it has been head down in the office working on a review of mathematics at Nayland Primary.
The children have been incredibly busy and have completed some great art work as part of our theme unit.

Remember that we are going to the Museum on Wednesday 28th and you all need to bring a hat of some sort.

We have our first visit to Harold on Friday - look out for healthy choices Mum and Dad!

Hello to Parents and Caregivers of Room 17 Students.

The year has started with a smooth transition from 2008, the children are quite settled into work already.  Thank you to those parents who have had HairyMaclary at home already, your contribution to the diary have been exciting to read each day. Lee Corlett started his programme this week and Room 17 will be having their first session next week.
Children should be bringing home a reading book every night please check their reading covers and complete the reading notebook as I have noticed some  that some students have not been completing these.
There was a school notice today about our whole school trip to Rabbit Island, please look for it in your child's bag. The cost is $2. Look out for next week's newsletter.
We welcome you to pop in to have a chat any time.
Regards Pauline and Jo
